HI‑EMT is not suitable for:

Pregnancy or breastfeeding - treatment cannot be used at any stage of pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
Recent plastic IUD - not recommended within 12 weeks of insertion.
Metal implants near the pelvis*- including copper coils, pelvic mesh containing metal, orthopaedic plates or screws.
Pacemakers, defibrillators or other implanted electronic medical implants, insulin pumps, cochlear implant, neurostimulator.
History of pelvic cancer  - HI‑EMT is not advised if you have previously had pelvic cancer.
Uncontrolled bleeding disorder or taking blood thinners.
Active urinary tract infection - treatment should be postponed until the infection has fully resolved.
Recent pelvic surgery (not fully healed).
Open wounds, burns or lesions in the pelvic area.
Severe neurological disorders - conditions that significantly affect pelvic floor function may make HI‑EMT unsuitable.
Titanium implants - generally safe as titanium is non‑magnetic, but you must let your therapist know so we can determine the treatment is safe.
